Life in the Village

STRONG COMMUNITY SUPPORT

FIM USA/SL enjoys the enthusiastic support of the community. Community members are very happy to have a functioning school in their community, and are eagerly pitching in to construct the school. We can only imagine how blessed they are to be able to hear the Word of God in their own language, taught by a Divinity-school-trained pastor.

Fairly inaccessible.

This is the road (!) leading to the village. Once across this primitive bridge, there are several miles more to go. No ordinary vehicles can make the journey. The region is very inaccessible. Due to lack of access to markets, farmers have low incomes and do not grow more than they themselves can store and use.

World Health Organization Lecture

The WHO came to the village to give a lecture.

Other sources of income

While most people engage in agriculture, there are a few other occupations, such as
being a tailor (depicted) or a blacksmith.
